Comfort Home Care Celebrates 20 Years of Service to the Community

Award Winning Family-Owned In-Home Care Provider Has Set the Standard for Care in Montgomery County

Comfort Home Care - Celebrating 20 Years LogoRockville, MD May 29, 2019: Comfort Home Care is celebrating its 20th anniversary as a family-owned in-home care provider supporting families with elderly and disabled care needs in and around Montgomery County, Maryland.

Comfort Home Care was started in 1999 by the Gelfeld family when they were seeking trusted home health care for their aging family members. Bill Gelfeld is the second-generation owner and is as passionate about the company’s mission as was his father before him.

The struggle back in the 1990s, as is now, is to find qualified and caring professionals who will work with families and respect that people want to remain in their homes for as long as possible. “The concepts of aging in place, and in-home rehabilitation weren’t part of the national health care conversation as it is today. We were like many families needing to care for relatives who weren’t ready for a nursing home or the expense of one,” says Gelfeld.

As the in-home care industry has evolved, along with the needs of the aging population in Montgomery County, Maryland so has Comfort Home Care. Today, they set a standard for care.

Comfort Home Care has a commitment to provide personalized Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Geriatric Nursing Assistants (GNAs) who are certified to work with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and Parkinson sufferers; stroke care, as well as people of all ages coming home from rehabilitation facilities or surgery. They travel to the client’s home or care facility.

The company has won multiple Best of Bethesda Awards and attributes its success to its family roots. “Montgomery County is our home and we recognize the importance of community and home and providing a way for people to remain here with their family, friends, social activities, doctors, and familiar surroundings,” says Gelfeld.

The need for in-home and personalized facility care will only grow in the next decade and beyond. Comfort Home Care is here to continue to provide assistance, advice, and its award-winning service to the community.
