Comfort Home Care was originally founded to care for our own family members, and we have remained family-centered ever since. We have supported our local communities in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., since 1999.
There are four areas of our care that set us apart:
1. Excellent Care
People-Centered Care
We are passionate about the care we provide our clients and practice a People-Centered Care approach. People-Centered Care is the philosophy of caring for the whole person and not just treating their symptoms. We strive to understand our client’s likes and dislikes, hobbies, food preferences, and the activities they enjoy to make each day comfortable and fulfilling.
Qualified and Experienced Caregivers
We hire only the very best qualified and experienced caregivers for our team. We do not outsource our clients’ needs to independent contractors. All of our caregivers are licensed as Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Home Health Assistants (HHAs), or Geriatric Nursing Assistants (GNAs). Our hiring process is rigorous and includes in-person interviews, health screenings, nationwide criminal background checks, and personal reference checks.
Registered Nurse Oversight
Our RNs (Registered Nurses) conduct initial needs assessments for each new client and create a comprehensive care plan. Each care plan is reviewed every 90 days.
Strong Caregiver Client Relationships
We strive to maintain the same caregivers in each case to help strengthen relationships. It is especially important for our memory-care clients to have a regular caregiver—experience has shown that new faces and unfamiliarity with the client’s routine are not conducive to a positive care environment. The client and caregiver develop a crucial relationship, one of trust and comfort.
2. Compassion
First-Hand Experience
All the members of our management team have personally experienced the stress involved in trying to juggle caring for their loved ones while trying to manage their own lives and families. We understand how difficult this time is and the rollercoaster of emotions our clients will experience. Our first-hand experiences have provided us with extra compassion, understanding, and patience with our clients and their families.
Going the Extra Mile
Time and time again, our clients and their families tell us how much they appreciate all the extra services we provide—the services that show them that we genuinely care about their family members as if they were our own.
Part of the Local Community
Ours is not an impersonal franchise. We live in the communities we serve and are invested in providing the best care to our neighbors. Our caregivers, clients, and families form close bonds.
3. Communication
Team Approach
A key contributor to Comfort Home Care’s client satisfaction is our communication through a team approach. We know that either an adult child(ren), extended family, friends, doctors, or physical therapists (or all of the above) will be involved in working to support their senior.
At Comfort Home Care, we integrate into the client’s care team to provide the best possible support. We ensure communication and collaboration with the medical professionals that refer to provide the best care solutions for your loved ones.
Technology
Our clients know we will always be there. We have carefully refined our systems to provide real-time communications with our care workers to confirm their arrival at every appointment. In the event of an emergency, the management team is alerted electronically before an appointment is missed.
Responsiveness 24/7
We have an excellent record for quickly responding to clients and families who were either not expecting to need care or were not prepared for at-home care. We are available 24/7 by phone or email and strive to provide same or next-day care for unscheduled care needs. When it comes to problem-solving, we are flexible and responsive, and we will react swiftly should a need arise.
4. Transparency
Upfront and Honest
We are up-front and honest about our capabilities. If we can’t help you or your loved one, we will let you know and, where possible, refer you to someone who can. We do what we say we are going to do. Honesty and integrity are the cornerstones of our business.
Simplified Billing
We have simplified our billing structure in order to make them easy to understand and transparent. While we do not accept Medicare, we do work with many long-term insurance providers.
