Comfort Home Care Launches a New Program for Continuing Education Units (CEU) for Social Workers Engaged in Senior Care
“We are committed to caring for your loved ones” is a phrase you will hear Comfort Home Care’s Principal, Principal of Comfort Home Care, repeat often—and he means it.
Established in 1999, and one of the premier private duty in home care agencies in Montgomery County Maryland, Comfort Home Care is launching a program to help Social Workers meet their professional ongoing education requirements.
Social Workers need to undertake 40 hours of Continuous Education Units (CEU’s), every 2 years, to maintain their license. That way they remain up to date on the latest in senior care—a passion shared by Comfort Home Care.
“Social Workers provide a critical role in the care of our seniors and families, helping navigate the confusing choices, as loved ones are discharged from hospitals and rehab. They make sure that people are discharged into a safe comfortable environment and try to help patents minimize the risk of readmission.” said Beth Wetzel, Transition Care Coordinator with Comfort Home Care.
Bill went on to explain: “We decided to offer courses that are NASW (National Association of Social Workers) approved—that way we can contribute to the ongoing health and well being of seniors in our community. The classes are held at our headquarters location in Rockville, Maryland, at times which are convenient for busy social workers.”
At this point, classes are provided at no cost to Social Workers and their employers. The intent is to make the program accessible to other professionals that care for seniors in the local community—specifically those working in Montgomery and Frederick counties. Initially a limited number of classes will be run as Comfort Home Care improves and enhances the program for the future.
